Harmony Sensory Harp
Modelled after the Reverie Therapy Harp and the Waking Spirit Sensory Harp, these
instruments create melodic musical sounds to help stimulate, relax, and/or comfort
individuals or groups. It can also be used in music therapy situations to promote
healing. There are a number of tunings for this harp, primarily based on the pentatonic
scale, which provide a variety of sensory tones.
One significant aspect of a sensory harp is that no specific musical knowledge or skills
are needed to play it. Because it based on the pentatonic scale there are no wrong
notes, therefore, no matter what number or combination of strings are played the sound
is always very pleasing. Just simply strum the strings and it will produce beautiful
music.
It is also a fun instrument that can be enjoyed by all ages. Tunes can be picked on
individual strings, or chords can be played to accompany singers.
